Dynamic Lighting for Weddings and Portraits

One great training, two different opportunities.
In an attempt to accommodate the weekend schedule of the wedding photographer, Dan has agreed to present this class twice.

Choose between Sunday, April 25th or Monday, April 26th

Course Description:

Doors will open at 8:30am so come on in, grab a coffee and muffin and chat with the other participants—network, network, network!

The morning, a lecture style class, will begin at 9am.  Dan will discuss how to find light, balance different types of light and how to make the best out of any location.

We will break for lunch at noon, pizza and salad will be provided though you are welcome to bring an alternative of your own.

In the afternoon, models will join us for a hands-on demonstration.  Participants will see Dan in action and have opportunities to put their new found knowledge to the test!  We will explore the renovated mill building with our bridal couple, find the light and create dynamic portraits!

This training is geared for the advanced photographer.  Participants are encouraged to bring their camera and a fast lens, flashes are optional.  Please label your gear.

"The ASA Scholarship Program"

As part of our effort to give back, Gail and I have started our own "ASA Scholarship Program" where we give complimentary seats to Photography Programs from several of the Boston area’s Colleges and Universities. Photographers, what does this mean for you? This is a great way for you to network with some up and coming artists and see what they are learning about the world of photography. It will also be an opportunity for you to scout some local talent if you are considering taking on an intern or new staff. In turn, the students will have the opportunity to meet with working professionals and get a feel for the day to day grind of the modern photographer. (Please....don't scare the students!)

Some of the schools that have been invited include: The New England School of Photography, Northeastern University, Boston College, UMass Lowell and New England Institute of Art.

An Invitation...

Throughout the past several years, we have been influence and inspired by some wonderful artists.  Understanding how such influences have strengthened and improved our business, we have always been committed to paying it forward.

In July of 2008, after 15 years of on-location portraiture, wedding, theater and stock photography, we found a home for ASA Photographic in the historic Faulkner Mills.  Our dream is for our studio to serve not only as a place to expand our own craft, but as a resource for aspiring and established photographers alike.  Rich in history and set in a beautiful riverside location, the mill provides a perfect setting in which to learn and grow.  Come be inspired with us!
